Coming soon to BBC 4 - Stephen Fry on Wagner

Wavelength has been commissioned to make a major arts film for the BBC, in which Stephen Fry explores his passion for the world's most controversial composer, Richard Wagner. The film, based on exclusive access to the annual Bayreuth Festival of Wagner's music, follows Stephen on a journey through the landscapes of Wagner's life and legacy, and includes sequences filmed in Germany, Switzerland and St Petersburg. Along the way Stephen meets leading musicians, including the conductor Valery Gergiev and Wagner's own descendants, and eavesdrops on rehearsals for this summer's Bayreuth Festival.

TX 25 May 2010 on BBC4.

A feature length version of the film will also be released later this year for theatrical and festival distribution. Please contact Wavelength Films for more details.
